Decidious trees for Windbreaks: Ashes, Silver Maple, Hackberry, Honeylocusts, and Lilacs.
Fast-growing trees for Shade: Quaking Aspen, Autumn Purple Ash, Red Sunset Maple and Autumn Blaze Maple. Best shade if planted in west, southeast or southwest locations.
Trees for Riparian Buffers (tolerant of wet soil): Ash, Silver Maple, Sunset Red Maple, Honeylocust.
Good trees for Lawns (allows sunlight to reach turf): Shademaster Honeylocust, Sunburst Honeylocust, Imperial Honeylocust.
